Workshop Singing back to the earth - Intuitive Singing
A workshop designed to create a new relationship with your singing voice for non musicians and musicians alike.Singing is the first musical instrument known to man, being the most instinctive way to express any kind of emotion that we feel in the moment. Instead of trying to sing songs we would dive within and sing without any lyrics to access an intuitive expression.
Apart from self exploration through the voice, we would also attempt Mongolian and Inuit throat singing as well as Dhrupad - a North Indian classical tradition of voice culturing.

The best way to share a teaching is through a story. In this circle we will touch upon the fundamentals and principles of healing as seen in the shamanic traditions from the eastern himalayas through ceremonial storytelling.
The elders say that there are two ways to transform - one is to sit like a rock (the way of the grandfather) and one is to flow like the river (the way of the grandmother).
We ll also discuss the traditional knowledge, practices and wisdom of the grandfather’s method and the grandmother’s principles through enquiry, guided journeys with the drum and via rites of passage.

Concert
Musica Medicina brings together sounds from various folk, nature and classical traditions from Asia and presents them in a contemporary form.
Their concerts are beyond a solely musical experience. It is indeed one where sonic vibrations invoke the memory of high mountain peaks, grasslands, rivers and tropical forests.
Expect North Indian temple chants, Mongolian Throat singing, Eastern Himalayan Drumming & Bowed string melodies weaving through Arab, Ottoman, Persian, Central and South Asian landscapes.
