Studio Reyn - Your yoga home in Amsterdam-East. Discover the balance between body and mind!

With yoga in the West we usually mean hatha yoga, a system of exercises to gain control over (especially) body and mind.

Yoga (/ˈjoʊɡə/ (listen);[1] Sanskrit: योग, lit. 'yoke' or 'union' pronounced [joːɡɐ]) is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aim to control (yoke) and still the mind, recognizing a detached witness-consciousness untouched by the mind (Chitta) and mundane suffering (Duḥkha).

For whom?
Yoga is suitable for anyone in a normal condition. Important:

  • Always state details that may hinder you in advance. If an exercise doesn't feel right, don't do it.

  • Do not eat 1,5 to 2 hours before class.

  • Do not do inverted postures during menstruation or pregnancy.

Below you will find our range of lessons.

Hatha Basics Yoga

Learn the basics of yoga; the physical postures are explained step by step and are suitable for working on strength, flexibility and releasing tensions.

Suitable for all levels.

Yang Yin & Meditation Yoga

Combination of dynamic yang flow to loosen muscles with gentle postures held passively for 3-5 minutes to stretch connective tissues and joints. The class ends with a meditation.

Hatha Vinyasa Yoga

Dynamic postures alternate with static postures. In the dynamic part you move from one pose to another in a certain sequence. Because the class goes more in a flow, at least 3 months of yoga experience is required.

Yin Yoga

Hold deep stretches, mainly in basic positions, from 3 to 5 minutes. This is to make the connective tissue and joints stronger and more flexible and to be present in the physical, mental and emotional body.
